Allergy testing is recommended if you experience any of these symptoms. Our allergy specialists can help identify the cause:
We offer comprehensive allergy testing services to identify your specific triggers. Our board-certified allergists will recommend the most appropriate test based on your symptoms and medical history.
The most common allergy test, the skin prick test involves placing small drops of potential allergens on your skin and gently pricking the surface. If you're allergic, a small raised bump (wheal) will appear within 15-20 minutes.
This test can identify environmental allergies (pollen, dust mites, pet dander), food allergies, and penicillin allergies quickly and safely.
For allergies that don't show up on skin prick testing, the intradermal test injects a small amount of allergen just under the skin. This is often used for drug allergies (like penicillin) and venom allergies (bee stings).
This more sensitive test can detect lower levels of IgE antibodies and is performed when clinical suspicion is high despite negative skin prick results.
Also called RAST testing or ImmunoCAP testing, the allergy blood test measures IgE antibodies in your blood. This test is perfect for patients who can't stop taking antihistamines or have skin conditions that make skin testing difficult.
Blood tests can identify food allergies, seasonal allergies, and specific allergen sensitivities without risking an allergic reaction.
The patch test is used to diagnose contact dermatitis and skin allergies. Allergens are applied to patches that are taped to your skin for 48 hours. After removal, we check for reactions at 48, 72, or 96 hours.
This test identifies contact allergies to metals, fragrances, preservatives, latex, and other chemicals found in everyday products.
Our comprehensive allergy testing covers a wide range of allergens to identify all your triggers. We test for environmental, food, and contact allergies.
